Everything started in 1709, an old women called Eleida Araujo was near the lake washing her clothes in the border of the lake when she saw a small piece of wood that she liked and used it to cover a jar she had with water. After a few days, on the 18th of  November 1709 the old woman heard some knocks, and when she looked she saw the piece of wood illuminated with image of the Virgin Mary. When she saw that she immediately went outside and ran over the street screaming ¨miracle, miracle!¨ Because of that, everyone in the town came to see it! This event has been celebrated by people generation after generation to remember the origin of  “La Feria de la Chinita”. From this moment the fair start to be a tradition in the city. With a big menu for the celebration, for example the descent of the Virgin, the ignition of the lights in Bella Vista, the Election of the queen of the fair, and more activities to share in family.
