Is it a shark? Nope, it's a whale.

Welcome to the cold winter of 1820, the New England whaling ship Essex was assaulted by something unbelievable; not a shark or a crocodile but something people have feared since 2000. In 2000, the original Moby Dick was released with a whale, not a killer whale but a sperm whale or a Physeter macrocephalus if you want to get fancy. Back to the movie: this follows the adventures of Owen Chase played by Chris Hemsworth (the god of thunder) Thor, if you would recall him better that way. This took place with his crew after an attack by a Physeter macrocephalus, but surprise! It was 4X bigger than a normal whale. This movie is an adaption of the heart of the sea, unlike popular beliefs this is not “Moby Dick the movie”, its called The Heart of the Sea for a reason. The story Moby Dick is slightly different and fictional, aand… it is actually based on the story: the tragedy of the Essex. The actors did a solid job of being frightened of this Apple's Spouting Whale, (I can try but it's just so adorable).

The cast had to be scared in all the act, from survival to whale hunting and let me tell you, they did a good job. But the shots and angles weren't at its best. Instead of getting a view of only the sea, or only the surface, gave us half and half causing a nauseating effect. Also when it came for the action part, the cameraman was way too distracted. Maybe he was looking at a butterfly or something, because the camera was always away from the action like in TV when someone is killed with a gun, but they don't show the kill just a black screen and a booming sound. Well, not like this, but we could have gotten a better view. Another major problem is how the whale acts like a heated Godzilla. There wasn't enough Godzilla, and I want more Godzilla. And its the same thing as before, just a few majestic shots of the whale isn't enough, for the director: big shadow won't work for me, I want the whale. Still, the shot was pretty majestic with a beautiful whale. This movie might be a bit long, but the final review is 7/10.  Bad shots and too much talking was this movie's downfall. Even though, it is still above average, this is something you should watch.
