A tribute to one of the most influential actors in the
film industry.
Alan
Rickman was a man who inspired us for decades, he has made us cry, laugh and blown
up in rage. He was an honorable man who dedicated himself to his acting but
also to the well being of others as he was involved charities such as “Saving Faces and The Performers’ Aid Trust”,
this charity supports artists in developing and poverty stricken countries. He
also recorded the voice of “This Tortoise
could save a Life”, to raise money for Save
the Children. Alan Rickman was also a philanthropist and an active
feminist.
Alan Rickman was
most known for his role as Severus Snape in Harry Potter Series but that wasn't
the only bad guy Alan played. One of his most famous antagonist roles was the
character of Hans Gruber in the 1988 film Die Hard, he is also known as the
evil, Sherrif of Nottingham in Robin
Hood. According to Daniel Radcliffe; Rickman’s co-star in the Harry Potter
films “People
create perceptions of actors based on the parts they played so it might
surprise some people to learn that contrary to some of the sterner(or downright
scary) characters he played, Alan was extremely kind, generous, self-deprecating
and funny.” You can tell that Alan was a generous and hart-warming man who made
us despise him in his films but we couldn't help but love him off screen. Many
people including Daniel say that Alan would make time for any friend when they
needed his help no matter how much work he had to do.
The passing of Alan Rickman has touched us
all, as we will miss his spirit of kindness and honor. We will miss his deep
and genuinely incredibly voice which made him known around the world especially
by both Jimmy Fallon and Benedict Cumberbatch he invented the Rickman-Off. We
will certainly miss his words of wisdom and outstanding advice. We will miss
his entertaining appearances in films especially Harry Potter. But most
importantly we will miss him, not his films or his voice, but the admirable
person he truly was. So raise you wands for Alan Rickman and may he rest in
peace!
