On 7 June 2014, Pope Francis accepted an invitation to visit Mexico at the behest of the Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto. In October 2015 it was confirmed by the Vatican spokesman that the Pope will travel to Mexico in early 2016. It was also confirmed that Pope Francis will visit the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico City. On 1 November 2015, Cardinal Norberto Rivera Carrera, Archbishop of Mexico City, confirmed the pope's visit and said the pope would arrive on 12 February 2016. After a few days the day arrived, the Pope arrived to Mexico. Thousands of Mexican people were in the churches and outside in the streets praying and looking for Pope Francis. Finally, a lot of good memories were left after this trip. The pope is hoping to travel around the whole world and bring the happiness and knowledge that he has.
