Slime rancher is a game that's entire premise is to, well, raise slimes! You start out with a gun that can suck up or shoot items or slimes. You put your slimes in a cage and feed them and they make you money. As simple as that.
There are many different types of slimes that give you more money and/or have different traits. For example, Boom slimes are lava slimes that produce a lot of money but explode randomly. Pink slimes give little money but are passive. Another difference between the slimes are what they eat. Some only eat fruits, vegetables, or meat. Some eat all and some eat two of the options.
I never explained how you get money, just that you get it. Well, you gain money by selling the slimes feces, or as the game calls them, plorts. There is a machine that processes the plorts and money just magically appears for you. Video game logic. You can use money to buy new cages, or modify them. There is an auto feeder, a plot collecter, and more!
